Christmas Concert with Chiz Rider
By · CommentsEmmy Award-winning trumeter Chiz Rider will be performing at the McKeesport Alliance Church on Friday, December 18 at 7:00pm. Chiz performs a blend of traditional and contemporary Christian music but on this occasion will perform primarily Christmas Music. The concert is free and open to the community. A love offering will be received.Some of Rider’s career highlights follow:When not recording for the Myrrh record label, Rider plays over 200 concerts annually throughout North America and all over the world.
- He won an Emmy Award in the category Outstanding Broadcast Performance for PBS’s “Chiz Rider, Fast Forward.”
- He has appeared in the Pittsburgh Billy Graham Crusade and at the Crystal Cathedral
When Chiz was four he discovered his father’s trumpet in a closet and has been playing ever since. Chiz is ninety percent self-taught, but he studied for a short time under the direction of Don Smith, then assistant Penn State University Blue Band director and David O’Neill of Nashville. Chiz’ fresh musical style embodies a jazz/pop sound that has been influenced by such versatile jazz musicians as Wynton and Branford Marsalis, Maynard Ferguson, Louis Armstrong and Jon Faddis.
MAC hosts regional Bible Quiz Tournament

On Saturday, December 5, the McKeesport Alliance church will host Bible quizzers from the Pittsburgh Region for a quiz meet. The Quiz meet starts at 9am and runs until approximately 1pm. The quizzers have been studying 1 & 2 Corinthians. Come out and support our kids.
Jesus is All We Need sermon series

This section includes Jesus’ words to His disciples following his prediction of Judas’ betrayal and Peter’s denial, and comes just before his arrest in the garden. Let’s take time to really reflect on what it means to have Jesus make his home in us and for us to make our home in Christ.
