Mahaffey Camp

Our district family camp will be held from July 16-25. A complete schedule of events and information about housing is available in the church foyer. This year will feature many speakers including Rev. Jonathan Schaeffer who will speak in the Main Tabernacle each evening, and Rev. Matt Merendino who will speak in the youth tabernacle. MAC Youth leave for Life 2010

After a couple of years of fundraising and preparation, a group of 12 students and sponsors left at 5:30 am on July 6 to attend Collide (Life 2010). The Life conference is held every three years for youth in the Christian and Missionary Alliance. The McKeesport Alliance Church has a long history of sending kids to Life. Many former students talk about the life changing impact the conference had on them. This year you have two opportunities to discover more about Life 2010. Easter Sunday, April 4 - “Did Jesus really rise from the dead?”

April 11- “Is God real?”

April 18- “Is the Bible true?”

April 25- “Do all roads lead to heaven?”

May 2- “How can a good God allow suffering?”

Christmas Concert with Chiz Rider

Emmy Award-winning trumeter Chiz Rider will be performing at the McKeesport Alliance Church on Friday, December 18 at 7:00pm. Chiz performs a blend of traditional and contemporary Christian music but on this occasion will perform primarily Christmas Music. The concert is free and open to the community. A love offering will be received.

Some of Rider’s career highlights follow:

When not recording for the Myrrh record label, Rider plays over 200 concerts annually throughout North America and all over the world.

He won an Emmy Award in the category Outstanding Broadcast Performance for PBS’s “Chiz Rider, Fast Forward.”

He has appeared in the Pittsburgh Billy Graham Crusade and at the Crystal Cathedral

When Chiz was four he discovered his father’s trumpet in a closet and has been playing ever since. Chiz is ninety percent self-taught, but he studied for a short time under the direction of Don Smith, then assistant Penn State University Blue Band director and David O’Neill of Nashville. Chiz’ fresh musical style embodies a jazz/pop sound that has been influenced by such versatile jazz musicians as Wynton and Branford Marsalis, Maynard Ferguson, Louis Armstrong and Jon Faddis.

First Responder Recognition Service

The events of September 11 reminded us of the daily sacrifice that our community first responders make. When crisis hits our community, our police, fire and ems personnel are the first to respond. Join us as we not only remember the events of September 11, but as we take a moment to say thank you to our community servants.

Volunteer’s Needed for International Village (Aug 18-20)

We will again be providing a diaper changing station, and providing free vision screening for children. This is the 50th Anniversary of International Village this year.
